Color Club Wild at heart

Like so many other bloggers, I'm having a bit of a holo obsession at the moment, and although I haven’t gotten my hands on any of the new ranges, I couldn’t resist buying this baby while I was ordering more of my usual nail care staples. Color Club Wild At Heart - it’s a bit of an oldie but still readily available and it really is beautiful. I had a bit of a hard time shooting this as it’s a really deep purple with a slight holo that comes out in the sun. It applies really nicely and 2 coats are plenty – which is what I’m wearing here with a top coat of SV. The only drama I had is that it started wearing at the tips the first day I was wearing it, as you can see on my index finger in these photos – although my nails are in bad shape so I can forgive them for that, and every holo polish I’ve tried has the same tendency.

China Glaze Rare & Radiant

So following on from my great Bankstown haul, here is Rare & Radiant from the China Glaze Bohemian Luster collection. This looks beautiful in the bottle, and it does look amazing on but TBH it took me three goes to get anything remotely worthy of taking a photo of. I found it was streaky and took some careful application. I tried it 2 ways - by itself and over black. On its own it takes 3 coats for full coverage, but does look stunning. Over black you only need one coat, but I honestly thought it just didn't look as nice. The duochrome goes from green to gold and it is far the most spectacular shift out of all the polishes in this series. I had loads of compliments wearing this around the office. I realise there are many polishes out there on the market that are pretty much identical, but if you don't already have one, this is worth picking up!

China Glaze Material Girl

I've been a little quiet lately because I made the very very very stupid decision to clean my apartment without any gloves a few weekends ago. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but turns out Jif ruins you're cuticles. So I feel like an idiot and have been too scared to show my nails, but seeing as I went on a polish shop I need to get over it and share the many pretties I have acquired (so please excuse the state of them for the next few posts! It will take me a few weeks to heal this damage... at least my oven is now spotless!). First up is Material Girl from the Eye Candy range by China Glaze. It took me ages to pick which ones of this collection to get as they all look so very stunning in the bottle. But I'm glad I went with this - medium and small sized rose pink glitter mixed with holo pieces makes for a really 3d effect that is truly stunning. It's quite thick and you can get full coverage with 2 coats - although I did a third one here for good measure. They apply quite smoothly, although I did do 2 coats of SV over the top to really gloss them up. The only drama I had, as I sometimes have when I wear a bucket of glitter, is that a couple of nails chipped off in giant pieces the next day. But I'm sure that's more user error than the product. I seriously love this one so much I need to go back and get more of the range!
